Course Description: The workplace and how employees work, collaborate, learn, care, and even touch the surfaces around them are evolving and changing. Architects and Designers are required to design for addressing the needs of here and now, and design for the flexible future.

In this course, Architects and Designers will learn how to combat the challenges of making flexible and collaborative spaces while designing to mitigate the spread of pathogens. Explore furniture, fixtures and equipment (FF&E) that can contribute to:

  • Creating multi-functional storage wall partitions that can provide employee personal storage, collaboration and help break up space without creating permanence in the open office,
  • Creating contactless and touchless experiences with touchless technology with lockers and the secure exchange of goods,
  • Creating storage that uses smart materials to help kill or slow the spread of microorganisms, such as antimicrobial or copper-infused materials
